The hilarious and talented actress, comedienne, and former Saturday Night Live (SNL) cast member just reached a new milestone! She's now a proud member of the esteemed SNL Five-Timers Club, as she hosted the show for the exceptional 5th time.
The life of Kristen Wiig. Born as Kristen Carroll Wiig on August 22, 1973, she grew up in Canandaigua, New York, and spent her younger years moving between Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Rochester, New York. Adventure is clearly in her blood because she later moved to Los Angeles. She honed her comedic skills with The Groundlings, an improvisational comedy troupe, then made her TV debut in 2003, and not long after, SNL was lucky enough to get her on their team.
Speaking of SNL, the Five-Timers Club is a tradition that celebrates hosts who have graced the stage five or more times. Kristen Wiig is now one of them, joining the likes of Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, and more. A marvelous achievement.
Let's now rewind and follow her career path. Have you ever seen the movie Bridesmaids? Of course, you have! Wiig didn’t just star in it; she also co-wrote the screenplay! It went on to be a huge hit and landed her multiple award nominations including Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Academy Awards–talk about a triple threat!
And let’s not forget about her voice acting in the ever-loved animated franchises, Despicable Me and How to Train Your Dragon. She voices characters that just seem to stick in your mind.

Set in 1969, Wiig's character, Maxine Simmons, is an ambitious woman trying to infiltrate Palm Beach high society. Who could pull this off better? I can't think of anyone.
From her early beginnings to her recent endeavors, she's proving why she is one of the finest female comedians out there.
