Vienna, Austria – Taylor Swift's highly anticipated concerts in Vienna, scheduled for this weekend, have been canceled after Austrian authorities uncovered and thwarted a terror plot targeting the events.

The concerts were to be held at the Ernst Happel Stadium on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the plot: a 19-year-old in Ternitz and another individual in Vienna. The 19-year-old suspect had reportedly pledged allegiance to ISIS and became radicalized online.

Franz Ruf, Austria’s public security director, stated that the authorities were aware of "preparatory actions" for a possible attack. Initially, it was believed that the concerts could proceed with enhanced security measures, but Barracuda Music, the concert promoter, announced the cancellations, citing the confirmed threat as the reason for prioritizing the safety of all attendees.

This incident follows a recent tragic event in Southport, England, where a knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class resulted in the deaths of three children. Swift expressed her shock and grief over the incident, emphasizing the profound impact on the families and community involved.

Ticket holders for the Vienna concerts will receive automatic refunds within the next ten business days. Swift is set to continue her European tour with performances at Wembley Stadium in London starting on August 15, before returning to the U.S. in October for shows at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
